MSF Launches Humanitarian Assistance Amid Flash Floods in Manipur

Imphal, June 1, 2025 — In response to the ongoing flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall across Manipur, the Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has launched a humanitarian assistance operation, particularly focusing on Imphal East and Imphal West districts.

The floods have caused extensive damage to residential areas, agricultural fields, roads, houses, offices, vehicles, and school hostels. In light of the severe situation, MSF President Hijam Roshan and General Secretary Sundar Khuman are leading teams on the ground to provide voluntary assistance and help evacuate stranded individuals.

The MSF has appealed to the government to take immediate steps in maintaining the state’s drainage systems and to conduct a thorough analysis of the root causes behind the current crisis to prevent future occurrences.
