Hindi Fortnight 2025 Concludes at RIMS, Imphal

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, observed the closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight 2025 today at the institute’s Examination Hall. The event was organized by the Official Language Cell of RIMS.

Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, Imphal, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, presided over the function, while Prof. Rajkumar Mobi Singh, Head of the Department of Hindi, Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

In his address, Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma highlighted the importance of promoting Hindi as the official language in accordance with the directives of the Government of India. He noted that such observances not only encourage the practical use of Hindi in day-to-day administrative work but also foster national integration and strengthen cultural identity. He also lauded the efforts of the Official Language Cell for successfully organizing the fortnight and urged all staff members to enhance the use of Hindi in official communication.

The Hindi Fortnight was observed from September 16 to 29, 2025. During the period, a series of competitions including Hindi to English translation, handwriting, singing, poem recitation, reading, and extempore speech were conducted among faculty, staff, and students to promote awareness and interest in the language.

Prizes were also distributed to the winners of various competitions at the closing ceremony.
