Workshop on Clean Sports and Anti-Doping Awareness Held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal

The National Sports University, Manipur, organised a one-day workshop on “Doping in Sports: Ethics and Regulation” at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.

Dr. Shyam Sundar Rath, Vice Chancellor (O) of the University, highlighted the importance of doping awareness for students pursuing sports-related disciplines, noting that knowledge of ethics and regulation is essential for future professionals in sports fields.

Padma Shri and Khel Ratna awardee N. Kunjarani Devi shared her journey in weightlifting, urging athletes to uphold honesty, discipline, and integrity while warning against the dangers of doping.

Dr. L. Dibamani Singh, Registrar, stressed that doping violates fair play and endangers athletes’ health, while Dr. Thumchuichan Raman, Assistant Professor, encouraged students to promote clean and fair sportsmanship.

The workshop featured expert presentations by Dr. P. L. Sahu, Director, National Dope Testing Laboratory, New Delhi; Prof. A. K. Joy, RIMS Imphal; and Dr. L. Sobhashini Devi, RIMS Imphal. Faculty members and students of the National Sports University also attended the event.
