Security Forces Nab Three Opium Traffickers in Churachandpur, 11 Kg Opium Seized

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, security forces apprehended three opium traffickers at the 7 Assam Rifles check post in Behiang, under Behiang Police Station, Churachandpur district, on Tuesday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Thangkhanthawng (33) of Kannan Veng, Limminthang @ L. Khongsai (34) of Moreh Ward No. 9, currently residing at Tuibong, and Thangjalet @ Letneu (31) of K. Nivangphai, all from Churachandpur district.

During the operation, the forces seized approximately 11 kilograms of opium, two two-wheelers used for transporting the contraband, and two mobile phones from their possession.

The arrested persons, along with the seized items, have been handed over to Behiang Police Station for further legal action. Authorities said the operation is part of the ongoing efforts to curb cross-border narcotics smuggling and dismantle trafficking networks in the district.
