Winter Relief Distributed to IDPs in Imphal East as Part of Ningol Chakkouba Gesture
Continuing its humanitarian efforts, the District Administration of Imphal East distributed winter essentials, nutritional items, stationery, and other household goods to internally displaced persons (IDPs) across several relief camps in the district.
As part of the initiative, Sub-Divisional Officer of Keirao Bitra, Laishram Roshan, handed over multipurpose jumbo boxes to 403 IDPs residing in Urup OBC Girls Hostel Relief Camp, Yambem Girls Hostel Relief Camp, Temporary Shelter Home Yambem Mathak, and Andro Laopaochum Relief Camp. The event was also attended by Sub-Deputy Collector, Tulihal, Irom Nirmal Singh.


The ongoing distribution drive, held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nivedita Lairenlakpam, aims to extend care and support to the displaced families during the festive season. The initiative is part of the district’s goodwill gesture marking Ningol Chakkouba, reflecting compassion and community solidarity.
The IDPs expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and district officials for their continued concern and assistance, especially ahead of the winter months.
