Unity March Sardar@150 Held in Kamjong to Mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary
As part of the nationwide celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, MY Bharat Kamjong organized the Unity March Sardar@150 Padyatra from Chassad Police Station to Town Hall, Kamjong. The march, held under the theme Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Shri Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, who also attended as Chief Guest.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted Sardar Patel’s historic role in uniting 562 princely states and building a strong, integrated India. He urged the youth to follow Patel’s ideals of discipline, service, and integrity while upholding the nation’s unity and harmony.

The event saw participation from over 600 people, including MY Bharat volunteers, students, youth leaders, ASHA workers, police personnel, BSF, and community representatives. Participants paid floral tributes to Sardar Patel, took the Bharat Aatmanirbhar pledge, and covered nearly 8 km while raising slogans promoting unity and national pride.
Preceding the march, ZEO Kamjong conducted essay, poster-making, and extempore competitions, along with yoga and cleanliness drives, to engage students and spread awareness of Sardar Patel’s legacy.
The celebration served as a tribute to the Iron Man of India and reaffirmed Kamjong’s collective commitment to unity, service, and nation-building.
