Unity March Sardar@150 Padyatra Held in Jiribam

The District Administration Jiribam, in collaboration with MY Bharat, organised the Unity March Sardar@150 Padyatra today to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, flagged off the march from Echel Club Dibong to the DC Office Complex at 8:00 am.

Over 500 participants, including officials, NSS and NCC volunteers, MY Bharat members, Red Cross volunteers, police personnel, students and local organisations, took part in the eight-kilometre march holding the tricolour and spreading messages of unity and national pride.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner paid tribute to Sardar Patel and urged youth to draw inspiration from his dedication and vision. He emphasised the role of youth in nation-building and called on participants to spread the message of unity across Jiribam.

A floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Sardar Patel, followed by the Bharat Aatmanirbhar pledge administered by Dr O. Radheshyam Singh. Cultural dances by NSS volunteers and distribution of sports materials to 20 youth clubs marked the occasion. Winners of the Essay Competition were also felicitated.

The programme was attended by district-level officers, students and local organisations.
