NEW DIGITAL FACILITIES INTRODUCED AT RIMS TO IMPROVE PATIENT EXPERIENCE
In a press release issued by the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, the institute announced the introduction of several new digital, patient-friendly services aimed at reducing waiting time and ensuring smoother hospital visits.
RIMS has rolled out an Online Registration System (ORS) that allows patients to book OPD appointments through the central government portal. After booking, a unique Appointment ID is generated, which must be shown at the OPD counter to obtain the OPD sheet, helping streamline the registration process.
To further ease crowding, a “Scan & Share” facility has been introduced at OPD counters. By scanning the displayed QR code on their mobile phones, patients can receive token numbers digitally without standing in long queues.
The hospital has also set up an ABHA ID Creation Counter for patients who need to generate their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID, which is required to use the Scan & Share service. Patients may also create their ABHA ID through the official mobile app.
Additionally, Token Dispenser Kiosks have been installed at the OPD premises. These self-service machines allow patients to generate tokens for OPD consultations and investigations, ensuring accurate details and better crowd management.
RIMS urged patients and visitors to make full use of these new digital facilities, reiterating its commitment to providing efficient and tech-enabled healthcare services.
