67 Acres of Poppy Cultivation Destroyed in Kangpokpi
A joint team of Security Forces, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Forest Department destroyed 67 acres of poppy cultivation during a two-day operation on December 5 and 6 in the hill ranges of Makui Ashang, Laloi, Wakotphai, Chaljang, and nearby areas under Kangpokpi Police Station, Kangpokpi district.

The team also demolished 38 huts used for cultivation and seized materials found at the sites. These included 44 bags of fertilizers, 43 bottles of Roundup herbicide, 26 bags of salt, and various equipment such as spray pumps, pipes, and other tools, all of which were destroyed on the spot.
Authorities said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal poppy cultivation and narcotics production in the region.
