INDIA Bloc Leaders from Manipur to Protest in Delhi on December 9

Leaders of the INDIA bloc parties from Manipur are set to stage a protest in New Delhi on December 9, 2024, against the BJP-led NDA governments in the state and at the Centre. The demonstration will take place at Jantar Mantar, despite any potential hurdles in obtaining permission for the event.

State Congress chief spokesperson Hareshwar Goswami confirmed the protest plans, emphasizing that the leaders would proceed with their protest regardless of permission from the authorities. “INDIA bloc leaders from Manipur will hold the demonstration on Monday, December 9, in the national capital,” Goswami said.

Manipur Congress president Keisham Meghachandra has been coordinating the protest arrangements in Delhi since November 25, and several leaders and office bearers from the INDIA bloc, including five Congress MLAs from Manipur, have already arrived in the national capital.

Goswami also mentioned that leaders from CPI(M), Trinamool Congress, AAP, and NCP from Manipur would join the protest. “We had planned for a protest on December 6 in Delhi but had to be postponed due to certain inconveniences. Now, whether we are given permission or not by the Centre, we will go ahead with the protest on Monday. It could be a sit-in or any other form of protest. We have taken our stand to stage the demonstration,” Goswami stated.
