3-Day Workshop on ‘Question Setting & Blueprint’ Kicks Off at ITTA
Imphal, March 27, 2025: A three-day workshop on ‘Question Design & Blueprint’ commenced today at The Ideal Teachers’ Training Academy (ITTA), organized in collaboration with the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Manipur University. The event, scheduled from March 27 to 29, aims to enhance the understanding and skills of educators in modern assessment practices aligned with the objectives of NEP 2020.
The inaugural session was graced by prominent educationists including Shri Tokpam Shantikumar Singh, Controller of Examinations, Manipur University; Dr. Yengkokpam Ranjan Singh, Principal, ITTA; Dr. Laisom Sharmeswar Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Teacher Education, Manipur University; Dr. Rajivkumar Narengbam, Principal, IRE; and Khagokpam Ronel Singh, Chairman, Governing Body, ITTA.
Delivering the keynote address, Shri Longjam Ratankumar Singh highlighted the importance of transitioning from traditional to modern assessment methods in line with NEP 2020. He stressed that such workshops are vital for equipping teachers with tools like Bloom’s Taxonomy, rubrics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in question design.
Shri Tokpam Shantikumar Singh, the Chief Guest, emphasized the urgent need to bridge the knowledge gap caused by the shift from pen-paper assessments to AI-integrated systems. He lauded ITTA for taking the initiative amid the ongoing educational challenges faced by the state due to conflict situations.
Dr. Yengkokpam Ranjan Singh underlined the necessity of enhancing teachers’ capabilities in assessment strategies, stating that proper question-setting is key to effective evaluation. He expressed gratitude to Manipur University and the resource persons for their unwavering support and appreciated the enthusiastic participation from colleges across the state.
The workshop is expected to foster deeper understanding among educators and strengthen assessment systems in higher education institutions across Manipur.
