RIMS Warns Faculty and Staff Against Private Practice, Urges Citizens to Report Violations Through Email and WhatsApp 

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, has reiterated its strict ban on private practice by its faculty and staff, following clear directives issued earlier by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

According to an official press release, the Ministry has already issued notifications in July 2024 and August 2025 warning against any form of private medical practice by RIMS staff. The Institute emphasized that strict disciplinary action, including suspension and possible termination of service, will be taken against violators after a Ministry-level enquiry.

RIMS clarified that it neither supports nor encourages private practice in any manner and warned of immediate action against staff found indulging in such activities.
