NFR HOSTS 79TH MEN AND 18TH WOMEN ALL INDIA INTER-RAILWAY BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

The 79th Men and 18th Women All India Inter-Railway Boxing Championship 2025 began today at the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Boxing Stadium, Maligaon. The four-day event, being held from October 24 to 27, is organized by the Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA).

The championship was inaugurated by Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of NFR, in the presence of senior railway officials and dignitaries. The tournament will feature intense competition and sportsmanship as top boxers from across Indian Railways compete for top honours.

A total of 140 boxers, both men and women, along with around 50 board officials, are participating in the championship. The participants represent 14 zones of Indian Railways, including Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), North Western Railway (NWR), South Eastern Railway (SER), South East Central Railway (SECR), East Coast Railway (ECoR), North Central Railway (NCR), South Central Railway (SCR), Northern Railway (NR), North Eastern Railway (NER), Eastern Railway (ER), Southern Railway (SR), and Central Railway (CR).

The championship serves as a platform to identify and nurture boxing talent within the Railway fraternity, reaffirming Indian Railways’ commitment to promoting sports and fitness among its personnel. NFR expressed pride in hosting the prestigious national event and extended a warm welcome to all participants, coaches, and officials, aiming to create a competitive and inspiring atmosphere for the 2025 championship.
