Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, inaugurated the Annual Games and Sports Meet 2025 at Loyola School, Lamlanghupi, Bishnupur, on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged students to pursue a balanced development of academics and extracurricular activities. “To be good in academics, you don’t have to give up on sports or other activities. We should try to build a well-rounded personality,” she said.
Emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, Smt. Pooja Elangbam remarked, “The idea is to always give your best. Sometimes you may win or lose, but you must learn to accept both with grace and gratitude.” She also urged students to support and motivate their peers, stressing that learning from failure is as important as celebrating success.

Encouraging students to make the most of their school years, she said, “Instil the spirit of friendship, teamwork, and helping each other through every game and match. Participate in as many activities as possible and stay healthy, because without good health, you cannot study or work effectively. Mental health also depends on physical well-being.”

The event was attended by the Principal of Loyola School, teachers, parents, and students.
