BJP’s Sambit Patra, BL Santosh Review Political and Organisational Situation in Churachandpur

Discussions Focus on Development, Party Strengthening, and Local Concerns

BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santosh and North East In-charge Dr. Sambit Patra on Thursday held a crucial meeting with party office bearers and legislators from Churachandpur district, as part of their ongoing visit to review the political and organisational situation in Manipur.

The meeting was attended by the District President, local MLAs, senior party leaders, and key functionaries from Churachandpur. Discussions centered on assessing the prevailing ground situation, reviewing development initiatives, and strengthening the party’s organisational network in the district.

Dr. Sambit Patra, who shared details of the meeting on social media, said that the leaders held extensive discussions on local challenges, ongoing projects, and the party’s roadmap for the coming months. He noted that the visit was part of a broader exercise to consolidate the BJP’s structure and ensure coordination among district-level leadership.

This visit follows a series of closed-door meetings held in Imphal on Wednesday, where the central leadership interacted with BJP MLAs from the valley districts and later with alliance partners NPP and NPF. The team is expected to visit Kangpokpi district next, where meetings with BJP MLAs from the Kuki community and local leaders are scheduled.

Party sources said the central leaders’ tour aims to bridge gaps between valley and hill districts, boost the party’s organisational presence, and prepare for the restoration of a stable, popular government in Manipur.

Visit to Relief Centre

Following the meeting, B.L. Santosh and Dr. Sambit Patra visited the Sadbhavna Mandap Relief Centre in Churachandpur, where they distributed relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and interacted with the families sheltered there.

Dr. Patra shared that the leaders spent time interacting with children at the relief centre, expressing solidarity and support for those affected by the ongoing unrest. He described the visit as “moments of warmth and compassion with the IDP children of Sadbhavna Mandap Relief Centre in Churachandpur.”
