Six Individuals Convicted for ILP Violation, Fined and Ordered for Pushback
Imphal: Six individuals have been convicted for violating the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system and fined by the Court of Hon’ble Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM-IW). The accused, all of whom were found without valid ILP cards, were identified as:
1. Jaikisun Prasad (48), son of Chedi Prasad from Ganesh Dumar, Gopalganj, Bihar, presently residing in Nagamapal.
2. Govinda Kumar (22), son of Amina Ram from Ageyan, Siwan, Bihar, presently residing in Nagamapal.
3. Saptam Paul (24), son of Subhash Paul from Dalo, Karimganj, Assam, presently residing on Khuyathong Road.
4. Lavkush Kumar (33), son of Suvash Singh from Belahri, Buxar, Bihar, presently residing in Nagamapal.
5. Pongal Ram (41), son of Nandalal Ram from Chandpura, Bihar, presently residing in Khuyathong.
6. Surendra Kumar (20), son of Satyanarayan Das from Bairagania Balganj, Sitamari.
The individuals were produced before the court under Non-FIR No. 79/City PS/2024, dated December 18, 2024, under Section 128 of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR), 1873. The Executive Magistrate imposed a fine of ₹6,000 on each violator, amounting to a total of ₹36,000, and directed that they be pushed back to Mao Gate.
The court ordered the violators to report to the ILP Cell Unit at Mao Gate for further formalities before their expulsion.
Manipur Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring compliance with the ILP system and urged all visitors to obtain the necessary permits to avoid legal consequences.
