Manipur Government Standardizes Health Center Nomenclature, Approves 16 District Hospitals
In a significant step to streamline the healthcare infrastructure in Manipur, the Directorate of Health Services has issued a notification to standardize the naming of health centers across the state. This decision follows the deliberations in the meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary (Health & FW) on December 4-5, 2024, and the subsequent follow-up meeting on December 9, 2024, chaired by the Special Secretary (Health & FW).
As per the notification (No. J/ATR/MEETING/2025-DHS), all health centers, including District Hospitals (DH), Sub-District Hospitals (SDH), Community Health Centers (CHC), Primary Health Centers (PHC), Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHC), and Primary Health Sub-Centers (PHSC), will now follow a uniform nomenclature as per the level approved by the Administrative Department.
