NFR Reaches New Milestone in Train Automation with Data Logger Integration
Maligaon, 26th March 2025:
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has achieved a major technological breakthrough by successfully integrating Data Loggers with the Control Office Application (COA) developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). This cutting-edge development marks a significant move towards full automation and real-time monitoring of train movements across the zone.
With the integration now active at 59 key stations—including all originating, destination, and interchange points—train arrival and departure data is being captured automatically using signalling inputs and transmitted in real-time to the COA. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, significantly reducing human error and enhancing operational efficiency.
“This technological upgrade not only streamlines the flow of critical information but also ensures quicker and more accurate decision-making by railway controllers,” said Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of NFR.
The rollout, which recently added 21 more stations to the system, is expected to boost train punctuality and improve the passenger information system. As Indian Railways continues its journey toward smarter infrastructure, NFR’s initiative sets a benchmark in operational modernization.
