NSUI Manipur Slams State Government on 55th Foundation Day, Highlights Student Struggles Amid Ongoing Ethnic Conflict
Imphal, April 9:
On the occasion of the 55th Foundation Day of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the Manipur unit of the organization issued a strong statement condemning the state government’s failure to address the ongoing ethnic conflict and rising unemployment.
In an official message, NSUI Manipur President Joyson Kh extended greetings to students while expressing deep concern over the hardships faced by the youth of Manipur. He emphasized that for over two years, the state has been gripped by a severe ethnic crisis, which he attributed to the “complete failure of the Government of Manipur.”
“The crisis has brought immense hardship to students across all communities,” the statement read. Joyson Kh also pointed to the growing problem of unemployment, stating that many young people have been forced to leave their homes in search of better job opportunities elsewhere.
Marking the NSUI’s foundation in 1971, the statement reflected on the organization’s ongoing mission to empower students and provide them with the tools to fight for truth, justice, and progress. It called upon students to unite and raise their voices for a brighter future, reaffirming NSUI’s commitment to fight for dignity, justice, and peace in the state.
“The time for change has come,” Joyson declared, pledging continued advocacy until “every tear is wiped away and every student can pursue their dreams without fear or hardship.”
The message concluded with a patriotic call for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur and reiterated the organization’s dedication to the ideals of the nation.
