BOSEM Declares HSLCE 2025 Results; Pass Percentage Drops by 1.66% Compared to Last Year
Imphal, May 12, 2025:
The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) has officially announced the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025, recording an impressive overall pass percentage of 91.37%, slightly lower than last year’s 93.03%.
A total of 36,943 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 33,755 passed. Among them, male candidates showed a pass percentage of 91.50%, while female candidates followed closely with 91.24%.
Private Schools Lead, Government Schools Lag
In terms of school type, private schools outperformed others with a pass percentage of 94.15%, followed by aided schools with 91.38%. Government schools lagged behind with only 82.32% pass rate.
Over 90 Government Schools Achieve 100% Results
Notably, over 90 government schools including Abdul Ali High Madrassa, Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School, Moijing High School and Moirang Multipurpose Hr. Sec. School achieved a 100% pass rate.
Schools With Poor Performance
Some schools recorded a 0% pass rate, including Senapati Govt. High School, Paomata High School, and Shyamasakhi High School, raising concerns over academic standards in those institutions.
Results Withheld for Nine Students
BOSEM also withheld the results of nine students due to various discrepancies. School authorities have been instructed to contact the Controller of Examinations before May 30, 2025, to resolve the matter. The students whose results are on hold include:

- 3. Jiya Gupta (Don Bosco High School, Tamenglong)
- 4. Utjal Barman (Jiri Public School, Jiribam)
- 5. Tanishqka Singh (Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Foundation School)
- 6. Mangaram Debbarma (Needy Home Academy, Mapao Zingtun Khullen)
- 7. Muna Shankar (Royal Ambassadors’ Academy)
- 8. Goldy Carlyn Bora (St. Dominic Savio School, Imphal)
- 9. Rina Nomosudra (St. Dominic Savio School, Imphal)
Re-Scrutiny and Certificate Distribution
BOSEM has opened the window for re-scrutiny applications from May 15 to 30, with a fee of Rs. 2100 per subject. Provisional certificates will be available from May 14, and original certificates can be collected by schools from May 28.
