Manipur Govt Bans Hoarding Amid Floods; Public Urged to Report on 7005319645 / 9862619525
Imphal, June 2, 2025: The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of Manipur, has issued a public notice to prevent hoarding and ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities during the ongoing flood and landslide crisis in the state.
According to the notice (No. 15/Misc/2017-DCAF&PD) issued on June 2, 2025, all individuals, traders, wholesalers, retailers, and business entities are prohibited from hoarding or unauthorized stockpiling of essential items. The directive has been enforced under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
Strict legal action will be taken against any violators under the provisions of the Act. The public has been encouraged to report instances of hoarding or black marketing by contacting the department at 7005319645 or 9862619525.
