Naga People’s Declaration Adopted at Civic Reception in Senapati

A significant milestone in the Indo-Naga political movement was marked today at Tahamzam (Senapati) as Naga leaders and community representatives came together to adopt the “Naga People’s Declaration.” The event took place during a grand civic reception organized in honour of Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser of the NSCN/GPRN and Chief Negotiator of the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks.

The declaration, issued by the United Naga Council (UNC), received broad endorsement from key Naga organisations, including the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Naga Women’s Union, Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR-South), as well as tribe hohos, district apex bodies, and village chairmen from across Naga-inhabited areas.

Reaffirming the collective trust placed in the leadership of the NSCN/GPRN, the declaration expressed unwavering support for its role in representing the rights and aspirations of the Naga people in the ongoing dialogue with the Government of India.

It also emphasized the Nagas’ steadfast commitment to achieving an inclusive, honourable, and acceptable solution grounded in the Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015.

The declaration concluded with a strong message of unity and determination, affirming the Naga people’s resolve to stand together as one in their pursuit of self-determination and a shared future — ending with the solemn invocation, “So help us God! Kuknalim!
