Shija Blood Centre Felicitates Blood Donor Organizers on National Blood Donation Day

In observance of National Blood Donation Day, Shija Blood Centre & Transfusion Services, a unit of Shija Foundation, organized a felicitation program for blood donor organizers at Shija Auditorium, Langol, on Thursday. The event was supported by the State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC), Manipur, and Shija Hospitals under the theme “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives.”

Dr. Palin Khundongbam, CMD of Shija Hospitals, graced the event as Chief Guest, while Dr. H. Teresa, Director of SBTC Manipur, and Dr. Chetan Khundongbam, Secretary of Shija Foundation, presided. More than 70 individuals attended, including 24 blood donor organizers from across the state.

Dr. C. Rajmani Singh, Medical Officer-in-Charge, delivered the welcome and keynote address, recognizing the efforts of blood donor organizers and encouraging sustained voluntary donation. Dr. Teresa noted that private blood centers contribute about one-fourth of Manipur’s total blood collection and hailed blood donors as “silent and unrecognized heroes.”

Dr. Palin also highlighted that Shija Blood Centre was the first in Manipur to introduce apheresis technology, which has proved lifesaving during dengue outbreaks. Blood donor organizers were felicitated with mementos and certificates.

Established in 2012, Shija Blood Centre & Transfusion Services continues to promote voluntary blood donation and ensure safe blood for patients across Manipur.
