Delhi Air Quality Remains ‘Very Poor’ for 7th Day; AQI Touches 398
Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ range for the seventh straight day on Thursday, registering an AQI of 398.
According to data available on the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) Sameer app, 21 out of 40 monitoring stations recorded Air Quality Index readings in the ‘severe’ category.
Stations such as DTU, Burari, Chandni Chowk, Anand Vihar, Mundka, Okhla, Bawana and Wazirpur reported AQI levels exceeding 400.
On Wednesday morning, 18 stations had fallen into the ‘severe’ zone — a pollution level known to impact even healthy people.
The CPCB categorises an AQI of 0–50 as “good”, 51–100 as “satisfactory”, 101–200 as “moderate”, 201–300 as “poor”, 301–400 as “very poor”, and 401–500 as “severe”.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 11.4 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 degrees below the normal for this time of year, while the maximum temperature is expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius.
Relative humidity stood at 95 per cent at 8:30 am, according to the IMD.
