DC Bishnupur Holds Security Meet to Ensure Safe Harvest and Speed Up IDP Rehabilitation
Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, chaired a high-level security meeting today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex to review safety measures for smooth harvesting in fringe areas and to expedite the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The meeting was attended by SP i/c Shri Th. Shangkar Deba, ADM Shri Toijam Opendro, commanding officers and representatives of various central forces, SDOs, OCs, and other concerned officials.


Emphasizing the importance of coordination among all security agencies, the DC urged officers to extend full support to farmers and ensure that the ongoing harvesting season is completed peacefully. It was decided that harvesting in fringe areas will be carried out between 6:30 AM and 4:00 PM under tight security cover.
SP i/c Bishnupur highlighted vulnerable zones requiring additional security deployment and called for effective planning to maintain order during the harvest period. Reports presented during the meeting indicated that harvesting has already begun smoothly in certain fringe areas and is expected to conclude by the end of November.
On the rehabilitation front, the DC called for collective efforts to facilitate the early return of IDPs, noting that several potential sites for resettlement have been identified. Security forces assured their full cooperation in supporting the process.
Acknowledging the improving situation, Smt. Pooja Elangbam appealed to all stakeholders to work together in the spirit of unity and progress for lasting peace and development in Bishnupur district and the state as a whole.
