Tribal Youth Council Manipur to Organize Sit-in Protest on December 13

Imphal, December 10, 2024: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, has announced a peaceful sit-in protest scheduled for Friday, December 13, near TBCI, starting at 11:30 AM. This demonstration is part of the council’s ongoing efforts to pressurize the State Government to address the grievances of tribal communities in Manipur.

The TYCM-GHQ, which represents the voice of tribal youth in the state, emphasized the importance of unity in advocating for their inherent rights to live with dignity and liberty. The council reiterated its belief in the youth as the driving force behind social change, stating, “Youths are the Pillar of the Nation.”

In their call to action, TYCM urged tribal communities across Manipur to join the protest in solidarity. The council hopes to amplify its demands for justice, equality, and the fulfillment of its Charter of Demands through collective participation.

The TYCM-GHQ stated that the sit-in protest aims to highlight the urgency of addressing tribal grievances and securing a brighter future for the community. They appealed to all tribal members to lend their voices to this cause, which they described as a critical step toward building a just and empowered tribal society.
