Manipur Speaker Reserves Verdict on Disqualification of NPP and JD(U) MLAs
The Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker’s Tribunal has reserved its judgment on the disqualification pleas against five NPP MLAs and one JD(U) MLA. The final hearing took place on Saturday, and the verdict is now awaited.
The disqualification case involves NPP legislators Mayanglambam Rameshwar from Kakching AC, Thongam Shanti from Moirang AC, Janghemlung Panmei from Tamenglong AC, Irengbam Nalini from Oinam AC, and Khuraijam Loken from Wangoi AC. Additionally, JD(U) MLA Md Abdul Nasir from Lilong AC is also facing action under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution, commonly known as the Anti-Defection Law.
