65.5 KGs of Suspected Cannabis Seized from Four Manipuris on Rajdhani Express at Guwahati Station

In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Government Railway Police (GRPS) at Guwahati Railway Station seized a total of 44 packets of suspected cannabis (ganja) weighing 65.5 kilograms from the possession of four individuals. The seizure was made today at Platform No. 1 during a routine check based on a secret input.

The individuals were traveling aboard Train No. 12423 DN (New Delhi Rajdhani Express) and had reportedly boarded the train at Dimapur Railway Station with New Delhi as their destination.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • S/o Nongthombam Joyshankar Singh
  • Resident of Wankhei Yumlembam Leikai, Brahmapur Aribam, PS- Porompat, Imphal East District, Manipur
  • 2. Raireikhan Tungshang (25)
  • S/o Late Mingthing Tungshang
  • Resident of Langdang, PS & District – Ukhrul, Manipur
  • 3. James Kamei (25)
  • S/o Munal Kamei
  • Resident of Namdulong, PS- Porompat, Imphal East District, Manipur
  • 4. Pukhrambam Kanta Singh (24)
  • S/o Late Pukhrambam Sanjit Singh
  • Resident of Waheng Khumar Mayai Leikai, PS- Wangoi, Bishnupur District, Manipur

The seized contraband and the arrested persons have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
