Mega Public Consultative Meeting Called by Kuki-Zo Council on Ceasefire and Peace

In a major development aimed at addressing ongoing hostilities and paving the way for peace, the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has announced the convening of a mega public consultative meeting. The meeting is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 19th July 2025 at 11:00 AM at Peace Ground, Tuibong.

According to a public notice issued by the Secretary of Information & Publicity of the Kuki-Zo Council, the primary agenda of the meeting will be the “cessation of hostilities (ceasefire) and other related issues”, a matter described as critically important for the future of the Kuki-Zo people.

The Council has extended an open invitation to all members of the public, urging them to attend in large numbers. The notice emphasizes that the collective voice and active participation of the people are vital in forging a united and informed course of action.

“This meeting is a significant step towards solidarity and shared purpose,” stated the Council in its appeal for mass attendance.

The consultative meeting is expected to witness widespread participation and could play a decisive role in the Manipur’s path toward peace and reconciliation.
