Manipur University Issues Order for Use of Hindi in Official Noting and Drafting

Manipur University has issued an office order directing all sections and departments of the institution to use Hindi in official noting and drafting. The order follows a decision taken at the meeting of the Official Language Implementation Committee held on August 8, 2025.

According to the order signed by Registrar Prof. M. Premjit Singh, quarterly inspections will be conducted to review the implementation and usage of Hindi across the university’s sections and departments.

The directive, issued with the approval of the competent authority, has been circulated to the Vice-Chancellor’s office, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, all deans, directors, officers, sectional heads, and other concerned officials of the university.

This move is in line with the Official Language Implementation Committee’s efforts to promote the use of Hindi as the official language in administrative functions.
