Joint Operation in Kakching Leads to Major Arms and Ammunition Seizure

In a significant counter-insurgency success, a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Kakching Police Commandos led to the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition in Thambal Chingya, Kakching District.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a 16-member team launched a coordinated search of the suspected insurgent hideout, resulting in the seizure of one AK-47 rifle, one G3 rifle, one modified single-barrel rifle, three bolt-action single-barrel rifles, one hand grenade, and sixty rounds of live ammunition of various calibres, along with other war-like stores.

The recovered items have been handed over to Kakching Police Station for further investigation. Officials stated that the operation represents a major blow to insurgent networks in the region and underscores the continued cooperation between Assam Rifles and state law enforcement agencies.

The Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and public safety in Manipur through sustained vigilance and joint security efforts with local authorities.
