Rural Roots Market to Promote Local Entrepreneurship and Self-Reliance in Imphal East
The District Rural Livelihood Mission (DRLM), Imphal East, under the aegis of the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) and in collaboration with the District Administration, Imphal East, is set to organize a two-day event titled “Rural Roots Market” on October 11 and 12, 2025, at Chingarel Tezpur Community Hall, Imphal East District.
The Rural Roots Market aims to provide a sustainable marketing platform for Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the district to showcase and sell their farm and non-farm products. The initiative seeks to promote rural entrepreneurship and self-reliance by encouraging local production and marketing.
The event will feature stalls exhibiting a variety of locally produced goods, including agricultural produce, handicrafts, handloom items, processed food products, and other value-added commodities prepared by SHG members. The market reflects the continued commitment of the District Administration and MSRLM to promote women empowerment, livelihood generation, and community resilience.
