Series of Convergence Melas Across Kakching District Concludes at Hiyanglam

The series of Convergence Melas held across Kakching district under the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) concluded today with a grand event at Hiyanglam Lai Pangalba Market Shed. The initiative, promoted under the PRI–CBO Convergence Project of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, was organized by Kanglei Chanu VLF, Lingjel Thoibi VLF, Loyanganbi VLF, and Punshi Lamjing Meira VLF of Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat under the supervision of the District Administration, Kakching.

The concluding programme was graced by Shri Mayengbam Ingocha Singh, BDO Langmeidong CD Block; Shri Elangbam Rajen Singh, Founder President of SEDO Hiyanglam; Shri Rajeev Ningthoujam, BMM Langmeidong CD Block; and Karam Bhudhachandra Khuman, OC of Hiyanglam Police Station, among other officials.

A total of eleven stalls representing departments such as Social Welfare, Forest, Horticulture, Medical, Fishery, and Handloom participated in the event. Essential services including PMJAY and CMHT cards, ration cards, old-age pensions, agriculture and fishery farmer cards, birth and death certificates, weavers’ cards, and yarn passbooks were provided to citizens on the spot.

The Convergence Mela series, which began on October 13 at Ebhudou Mayangngamba Laibung in Thongjao Makha Leikai, Waikhong Gram Panchayat, was held across various venues including Keirak, Wangoo, Wabagai, Uchiwa, and Langmeidong, before culminating today at Hiyanglam.

The initiative successfully brought multiple government services and welfare schemes closer to the people, promoting awareness, accessibility, and rural empowerment across Kakching district.
