DC Bishnupur Issues Order Against Paddy Threshing on Paved Roads
The Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, has issued an order prohibiting the use of paved roads for paddy threshing activities, citing concerns over damage to public property and the safety of road users.
The directive comes following reports that some farmers and individuals have been threshing paddy on public roads during the ongoing harvesting season, leading to mud accumulation from farm vehicles and creating road hazards.
In the order, the Deputy Commissioner instructed that no part of any paved road in Bishnupur District should be utilized for threshing paddy. Furthermore, owners and drivers of farm vehicles are required to compulsorily remove mud from their tyres before driving onto main roads.
The order cautions that failure to comply with these directives will invite appropriate action under the law.
The initiative aims to maintain road safety, protect public infrastructure, and ensure smooth vehicular movement during the harvest season.
