Earthquake of 5.7 Magnitude Strikes Manipur

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck Kamjong district in Manipur on March 5, 2025, at 11:06 AM IST, according to seismic monitoring agencies.  

The tremor was recorded at a depth of 110 km, with its epicenter located at 24.75°N latitude and 94.35°E longitude. The deep-seated nature of the quake may have reduced its surface impact, but tremors were reportedly felt across parts of Manipur and neighboring regions.

Authorities have not reported any major damage or casualties so far. However, officials are monitoring the situation closely.
