Governor Inaugurates Key Infrastructure and Innovation Projects at CAU Imphal
Imphal, March 22, 2025:
In a significant push towards agricultural innovation and self-reliance, the Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, inaugurated several new infrastructure and development projects at the College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, and the College of Food Technology, Lamphelpat, under the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
At the College of Agriculture (COA), Iroisemba, the Governor inaugurated a newly constructed girls’ hostel and a Type-IV staff quarter, aimed at enhancing student accommodation and faculty housing facilities.
Later in the day, the Governor visited the College of Food Technology, Lamphelpat, where he inspected the Biofloc Unit and the Food Processing Pilot Plant. He also inaugurated a unique Tulsi-flavoured water manufacturing unit, which is expected to contribute to innovative food product development.
In a humanitarian gesture, the Governor distributed food processing equipment to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and urged them to take advantage of training programs offered by CAU Imphal to build skills in food processing and entrepreneurship. He encouraged the IDPs to become self-reliant through active participation in these skill development initiatives.
Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of CAU, Imphal, along with faculty members and students, were present during the occasion. The Governor also visited and interacted with participants at the “Technology and Machinery Demonstration Mela – 2024-25,” organized under the AICRP on Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology.
