“We May Turn to Ashes, But Waqf Will Not Be Surrendered”: Mufti Ajimuddin at Mass Protest Rally
Mayang Imphal, April 14: A massive protest rally demanding the repeal of the Waqf Amendment Act 2025 was held today at Mayang Imphal Bengoon, drawing participation from thousands of people. The rally was organised by the Joint Coordinating Body of Mayai Lambi including Wabagai Kendra.
The protest march began from Shakti Khongnang in Mayang Imphal Bengoon and concluded at Bengoon Bazar. Protesters carried placards with strong messages such as: “Properties of Waqf Belong Only to Allah, Not the Government,” “Don’t Stand Against Islam,” “Repeal Waqf Amendment Act Immediately,” “We Will Die for Islam and Live for Islam,” along with slogans against political leaders and parties including “Down Down BJP,” “Down Down Narendra Modi,” “Down Down Amit Shah,” “Down Down Nitish Kumar,” “Down Down JD(U),” and “Down Down Chandrababu Naidu.”
Speaking at the rally, Mufti Ajimuddin, a participant from Mayang Imphal, strongly criticized the Act. “This law, which appears to be aimed at erasing and degrading Muslims, has been passed by the government. We oppose it as lovers of truth,” he said. “Implementing this Act by force will be like throwing Hindustan into a fire.”
He further warned that Muslims who follow Islam would never allow any attempt to seize Waqf properties. “We may die or turn to ash, but we will not let anyone act against Islam. We will never hand over Waqf properties to anyone,” Mufti Ajimuddin declared.
