Assam Rifles Leads Community Awareness Drives on Dengue and Drug Abuse in Manipur
Imphal | 17 May 2025 — Continuing its commitment to public welfare, Assam Rifles organized two impactful awareness programs in Manipur this week, focusing on dengue prevention and drug de-addiction.
On 16 May, Assam Rifles marked World Dengue Day with an awareness lecture at Cornerstone School in Longja Village, Chandel District. The session, attended by 105 students and 10 teachers, was conducted by the force’s health experts. It emphasized the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures for dengue, particularly as the monsoon season nears. The event also promoted cleanliness and community-led sanitation as key strategies to combat mosquito-borne diseases.
In a separate initiative on 17 May, Assam Rifles hosted an Awareness Programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at the Adullam Rehabilitation Centre in H Munnom Village, Moreh, Tengnoupal District. The event engaged 25 individuals undergoing rehabilitation, with force personnel delivering a powerful lecture on the devastating effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society. Participants pledged to lead drug-free lives and work towards a healthier, addiction-free India.
These initiatives highlight Assam Rifles’ proactive approach to health and social awareness in remote areas, earning appreciation from local communities.
