MLA Mohd Abdul Nasir Chairs Joint Meeting with Meitei Pangal CSOs on Minority Girls’ Hostel and Other Key Issues
Mohd Abdul Nasir, MLA and Chairman of the Manipur WAQF Board, chaired a joint meeting with Meitei Pangal Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) today at the Conference Hall of the WAQF Office, Imphal. The meeting was attended by WAQF Board members, the Chief Executive Officer, and officials.
Representatives from several Meitei-Pangal CSOs, including AMMOCOC, UMPC, UMWDO, MPCM, AMGSU, MMWO, AMPWA, MFO, AMMDO,MPKNT,AMMPACO,AITI and PSO, among others, took part in the discussion.

The discussion primarily focused on framing rules and regulations for the Minority (Meitei-Pangal) Girls’ Hostel located at Minuthong Hatta, Imphal. Various modalities and related administrative matters concerning the functioning and management of the hostel were also deliberated.
The meeting emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the WAQF Board and community organisations to ensure the welfare and empowerment of Meitei-Pangal students, particularly girls pursuing education in Imphal.
It was resolved that a committee will be formed to review and frame the hostel’s rules and regulations. The committee will include representatives from the CSOs present in the meeting to ensure inclusivity and community participation.
Chairman Abdul Nasir appreciated the active participation and valuable inputs from the CSO representatives and assured that all concerns raised would be duly considered for effective implementation.
