Five Years of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan: Jiribam Reinforces Commitment to a Drug-Free District
The District Administration Jiribam, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office and the District Child Protection Unit, today celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Jiribam. The programme was organised under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat, Khushaal Bharat” as part of the nationwide campaign.

Deputy Commissioner Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, IAS, administered the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan pledge, reiterating the district’s collective resolve to work towards a drug-free society.
The event was held in conjunction with the national-level celebration at Amritsar, Punjab, attended by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab Shri Gulab Chand, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann and Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar. A special message from the Prime Minister was also read out during the programme.
As part of the observance, the District Child Protection Unit organised parallel pledge ceremonies at three child care institutions — Gulamchat Children Home for Mentally Challenged Girls, Gulamchat Open Shelter Home for Boys, and Lairembi Shanglen Children Home for Girls. The pledge was administered by District Child Protection Officer H. Ibeyaima Devi.
The programme was attended by senior district officials, including SDO Jiribam L. Tarajeet Singh, MCS; District Social Welfare Officer W. Hemender; SDC Jiribam S. Sitaranjeet; SDC/BO Jiribam RK. Gyandeep Singh; BDO Borobekra RK. Sailash Singh; SDC Borobekra M. Devananda Singh, along with other district-level officers.
