IPAK Films Felicitates Five Manipur State Kala Akademi Awardees
IPAK Films Production on Monday honoured five distinguished recipients of the Manipur State Kala Akademi Awards 2023 and 2024 during a felicitation ceremony held at Tongan Tonganba Field in Imphal.
Those celebrated at the event included Sagolsem Tijendra Singh (Performing Arts – Music, 2023), Khundrakpam Surchandra (Performing Arts – Thang-Ta, 2024), Khwairakpam Bishwamittra (Performing Arts – Theatre, 2024), Huidrom Pushparani (Young Talent Award – Music, 2023) and M.K. Saroj Khan (Young Writer Award – Literature, 2024).
Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar Singh graced the function as the chief guest, while Dr. R.K. Nayansana Devi, former Chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board, and S. Mangoljao Singh, former Chairman of the Film Forum Manipur, attended as special invitees. IPAK Films Production Secretary Rakesh Naorem was also present.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Arunkumar Singh highlighted that Manipur’s vibrant artistic traditions continue to earn global admiration and encouraged artistes to safeguard and uplift indigenous art forms. Former Film Forum Manipur Chairman Mangoljao Singh echoed the sentiment, calling for collective responsibility in preserving the state’s cultural heritage.
