Sinai SoO Camp Under Security Forces’ Control Since Yesterday; Verification Underway, Government to Decide on Relocation or Closure Soon
The SoO-designated Sinai Camp has remained under the cordon and control of security forces since yesterday, with the verification of cadres currently underway. The process is expected to be completed by tomorrow, after which the government will decide whether to relocate or close the camp.
According to sources, 17 cadres have been detained amid the ongoing verification process due to discrepancies between their names and the list of cadres officially designated to stay at the camp.
The development comes amid mounting public outrage and protests over the killing of three wood collectors at Sunurok Uyok, Imphal East, which has intensified demands for accountability and stronger security measures.
