Security Forces Destroy 30 Acres of Illegal Poppy Cultivation in Kangpokpi District

Security Forces on Sunday destroyed poppy plants cultivated over an estimated 30 acres of land in Songlung village and the adjoining areas of Lhangjol and Waphong villages under Kangchup Police Station, Kangpokpi district.

During the operation, personnel also destroyed three farm huts, three fertilizer bags, and two sacks of salt found at the cultivation sites. Additionally, two burnt Gypsy vehicles were recovered from the area.

The operation is part of the ongoing drive by law enforcement agencies to curb illegal poppy cultivation and narcotics-related activities in the hill districts of Manipur.
