Security Forces Destroy 4 Acres of Poppy Cultivation in Sorbung Hill Range

Security forces destroyed around four acres of illegal poppy cultivation on Monday at the Sorbung hill range under Senapati Police Station, Senapati district.

The operation was carried out following specific inputs about large-scale poppy farming in the remote hill pockets. Personnel trekked to the site and uprooted the cultivated areas as part of ongoing efforts to curb illicit drug production in the region.

Authorities said similar drives will continue to prevent the expansion of illegal poppy fields and to combat narcotics-related activities in the district.
