Kuki Inpi Manipur and UNC Condemn Burning of Houses in K. Songlung Village
The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and the United Naga Council (UNC) have jointly condemned the burning of households in K. Songlung (Part-II) village, which reportedly occurred in broad daylight on January 26, 2026.
In a joint press statement, the two apex bodies described the incident as a serious act that caused significant loss of property and instilled fear and panic among the affected families. The arson attack was allegedly carried out by the Zeliangrong United Front–Kamsom group.
KIM and UNC appealed to the general public and all concerned communities to maintain peace and exercise restraint, urging people to avoid any form of violence that could escalate communal tensions. They further cautioned against the spread of rumors, misinformation, and propaganda that could deepen mistrust and hostility among communities.
The joint meeting also expressed solidarity with the victimized families and emphasized the need for immediate relief measures and justice for those affected by the incident.
The statement was jointly signed by Ajang Khongsai, President of KIM, and NG Lorho, President of UNC.
