BJP Spokesperson Suresh Criticizes MP Bimol Akoijam’s Remarks on Armed Groups

BJP Manipur spokesperson Suresh strongly criticized MP Dr. Bimol Akoijam on Tuesday for his statements in Parliament, where he alleged the presence of an armed group in the valley districts, supposedly supported by the ruling government. Addressing a press conference at Thambal Shanglen, Suresh condemned the remarks as “very unfortunate” and cautioned that if the Centre decides to impose AFSPA in the valley, MP Bimol Akoijam should be held accountable.

“Congress should stop political gain. Bimol alleges chief minister of not doing anything. Bimol should know that article 355 is being imposed in Manipur according to which law and order is held by centre.” Suresh said.

Suresh also urged Bimol to speak as a Manipuri and not as an outsider.

Later when asked if Article 355 is being officially imposed in Manipur, Suresh replied “the appointment of security advisor is evident of its imposition.”
