Manipur Police Launch Statewide Drive to Identify Illegal Pakistani, Bangladeshi Nationals

Imphal, April 29: Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Manipur Police is set to initiate a statewide “survey and verification” drive to identify illegal Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals residing in the state without valid documents, officials confirmed.

The operation will focus primarily on Muslim-majority areas in the Imphal Valley, including Lilong, Minuthong, Kwakta, Mayang Imphal, Sora, Kairang, and other localities where there are reports of undocumented foreign nationals staying without valid visas or Inner Line Permits (ILP).

Senior police officials have instructed local police stations to verify the presence of such individuals and take appropriate legal action against any unauthorized residents. All police stations involved in the drive have been directed to maintain detailed records of the verification process.
