Students Explore Ningsingkhul Biodiversity Park in Nature Trail Walk Held as Part of 71st Wildlife Week Celebration
As part of the ongoing 71st Wildlife Week Celebration 2025, the Jiribam Forest Division organised a Nature Trail Walk for school students at Ningsingkhul Biodiversity Park on Monday. The event aimed to enrich students’ understanding of various plant and animal species while fostering awareness about wildlife conservation and ecosystem preservation.
Around 150 students from New Life School, Jiri Higher Secondary School, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, and Highway English School participated in the walk. They were guided through the forest, where officials explained the park’s flora, fauna, and ecological significance.
Divisional Forest Officer, Jiribam, Elangbam Nirmala Chanu, highlighted the importance of every life form — from insects to large mammals — and underscored the need for human-wildlife coexistence. She urged the students to report to the Forest Department if they encounter wild animals in distress or witness illegal hunting or wildlife trade.
The Nature Trail Walk was organised with the objective of nurturing compassion for nature among young students, who represent the future custodians of the environment. Through such initiatives, the Jiribam Forest Division continues to promote awareness about wildlife conservation and individual responsibility in protecting natural habitats.
