RBI Leads Financial Literacy Drive, Settles DEAF Accounts in Makhan
A district-level camp on DEAF/Unclaimed Deposits along with an RBI field-level financial literacy programme was held at Makhan Centre, Senapati district, with over 200 participants.
The event was attended by Shri Chamailo Samuel, Deputy General Manager, RBI Imphal; Shri Lokho Peter, Regional Manager, SBI Imphal East; Shri Shelehu Pao, Lead District Officer, RBI Imphal; Shri Kapeo Joseph, Divisional Manager, LIC Imphal; Smt. Rita Misao, General Manager, DIC Imphal; Shri Lavie James, District Agriculture Officer, Senapati; and Shri H. Veisho, District Mission Manager, MSRLM Senapati.

Certificates for settlement of DEAF/Unclaimed Deposit accounts were handed over by Shri Lokho Peter to customers whose claims were processed by banks. A total of eight DEAF accounts amounting to ₹27,000 were settled.
The programme included sessions on DEAF activation, Social Security Schemes, Re-KYC, and free Udyam Registration by DIC Senapati. An interactive session allowed participants to raise queries with bank and department officials.
The event concluded with RBI donating utility items to five villages.
