Drivers Receive Free Eye Check-Up in Churachandpur

As part of the ongoing observance of National Road Safety Month 2026, a Free Eye Check-up Camp for drivers was organized today at the Eye OPD of District Hospital, Churachandpur. The camp was conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Churachandpur.

The programme was held under the supervision of Dr. Ginthianmung, Eye Specialist and District Nodal Officer (DNO), National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB & VI), National Health Mission (NHM), Churachandpur.

 

A large number of commercial vehicle drivers availed themselves of the facility. The check-up mainly focused on vision and colour vision testing, with the objective of promoting road safety, reducing accidents, and saving lives by identifying and addressing vision-related issues at an early stage.

During the camp, Dr. Ginthianmung highlighted the importance of regular eye examinations for drivers and urged them to prioritise eye health to prevent vision-related road accidents and ensure safer driving conditions.

The initiative aimed to strengthen road safety measures by ensuring better eye health among drivers, thereby contributing to accident prevention and safer roads across Churachandpur district.
